In November 2020, PT KHI Pipe Industries (KHI) succeeded in exporting steel pile pipe to
Australia. The first delivery ceremony was held on Friday, November 6th 2020 by delivering 1,880
tons pile pipe out of 4,370 tons total order.

President Director of KHI, Utomo Nugroho said that his party is successful in supplying steel pipes
with a diameter of 1500 mm, 25 mm thick and 50 m length, which will be used for the construction
of a dock at HMAS Coonawarra – an Australian Navy base in the city of Darwin, Northern Territory.
The pipes were produced by using raw materials of PT Krakatau Steel with specification BS EN
10219 S355JO.

“In the midst of many industries that are struggling to survive due to the impact of the COVID19 pandemic, KHI can show good performance, one of which is by successfully delivering
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd’s first export,” Utomo said in a press release from
Krakatau Steel, Sunday (7/11).

He added, the project had high specifications in terms of testing, dimensions and thickness. In
addition, the existence of a series of testing stages conducted by third parties is also a challenge
for KHI. His party was also grateful and gave high appreciation to all employees in completing
the production of the McConnell Dowell Project.

“The production process for pipes with the specifications required by the customer is quite
difficult, but with good teamwork and communication, as well as support from Krakatau Steel as
the parent company, deliveries can be made it punctually,” said Utomo.
