After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between SKK Migas and IISIA, on November 9 2018, the Indonesian Iron & Steel Industry Association (IISIA) again held a Memorandum of Understanding Implementation Forum between SKK Migas and IISIA Cluster Flat and Pipe Products.

This activity which is fully supported by the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) was held on 12 – 13 February 2020 in Surabaya, East Java. The event was opened by Purwono Widodo, Chairman of IISIA, which was carried out by Tunggal as the Deputy for Procurement Control of SKK Migas.

Tunggal said that the Memorandum of Understanding Implementation Forum was a performance review, evaluation and evaluation of the memorandum of understanding between SKK Migas and IISIA which had been going on for the past 1 year or so as an effort to form SKK Migas in encouraging TKDN in upstream oil and gas activities.

In addition, there is also a need for guidance from KKKS to IISIA through testing and selecting the right procurement strategy to help the growth of the domestic steel industry. “One of the forms of the Memorandum of Understanding in question is the order of 180,000 tons of steel plates and pipes by KKKS to IISIA members in 2018-2019,” Purwono said in a press release, Monday (24/2)

Erwin Suryadi, Head of SKK Migas Goods and Services Procurement Control Division added that SKK Migas is doing its best to find the best way to bridge activities and fulfillment of TKDN, so it is hoped that this forum will be one form of implementation of the Vendor Development Program owned by SKK Migas in Developing it. domestic industry which has also received good appreciation from stakeholders.

This implementation forum event was also attended by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, KKKS and the IPERINDO Association, AFABI and APROPIPE. Ridwan Djamaluddin as Deputy for Infrastructure Coordination of the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment on this occasion said that he strongly supports this activity, because an important key in increasing domestic investment is increasing the use of domestic products contained in the P3DN program.

The government has taken this very seriously with the formation of the P3DN National Team which will continue to show the president, and ensure the consistency of TKDN and report to the president.

Zainuri from the Ministry of Industry also expressed his support for the use of domestic products and still required strict supervision of the use of domestic products so that further coordination between ministries is needed so that the P3DN program can run well.

On the same occasion, Naufal Noor Rochman, a representative of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, considered that there were so many challenges in the use of domestic products, especially in controlling imports of operating goods, therefore he asked to be involved since planning so that the master list process would not become obstacles in project implementation and the use of domestic products can be more optimal.

Meanwhile, Hardiman Utomo, Chairman of IISIA Pipe Product Cluster, hopes for support from the government and KKKS to always side with domestic products in order to increase the growth of domestic industries. Erwin Suryadi closed the event by inviting all stakeholders, both government and domestic industry, to jointly develop the capacity of the domestic iron / steel industry so that they can meet competitive quality, delivery and prices.
