In early 2020, PT KHI Pipe Industries received a pipe pile construction project for the Lamong Bay project of ± 8,500 tons. This project is a synergy between Krakatau Steel Group and PT Krakatau Engineering. PT Krakatau Engineering collaborates with PT Amarta Karya (Persero) to work on the contractor EPC for the project. The specifications of this project are Spiral / HSAW (Helical Submerged Arc Welding) pipes.
With this project, it is hoped that the Teluk Lamong pier can increase its capacity to reach a growth target of 5% from 2018’s achievements where the dominant commitment is still around soy beans, wheat and corn. The terminal, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 2015, carries the concept of Go Green by using natural gas and the location of emissions from the entire business process. It is hoped that the completion of this project pipeline can end in April 2020.
